I purchased a brand new MBP 13"2010 model from Craigslist yesterday. I mean brand new not registered yet. Will I have issues/problems when I go to register it? I did not get a purchase receipt with the sale.

best of luck...

Maybe.

In all likelihood its a stolen laptop.

I'm just curious as to how you came to the conclusion that it is stolen with sooo little information?

Although stolen items are often sold online, the majority of items are not stolen. Although I agree that there is a reasonable chance, how did you get to most likely?

Hope you got a good deal on it because the 2.66 is not worth the $300 premium that Apple charges over the base model.

The warranty period begins on the manufacturing date. The warranty follows the computer not the owner. You don't even have to register it. You don't have to show proof of purchase.

Very likely stolen. Congrats on a very sketchy purchase.

How else do think sellers on craiglist are getting a sealed brand new laptop?

If the craigslist seller bought the computer and its still sealed, return it, he'll get more money on a refund then on craigslist.

While there might be occasions where brand new sealed laptops being sold on craigslist are not stolen the odds are not likely.

This was the reason why it was purchased to save from buying it for $300 more than the base. It's actually my first Mac ever.
