New MBP 2015 15in or New MBP 15in 2017

I am stuck between either the New 2015 MBP 15" or the New 2017 MBP 15".

Is it worth paying the extra money for the 2017 model? I fear about battery life and I know that the 2015 model has a 95W battery compared to the 75W in the 2017 model. Also, I can get 512GB SSD for much cheaper if I get the 2015 model.

Have you had a chance to play around with each? Which do you like more? Is pricing an issue? How will you use the computer? There is a lot of subjectivity regarding things like the keyboard and trackpad...

I've had the opportunity to try both of the 15" MBP's out, along with the 13". I decided that a 13" was just too small for me. I plan on using this laptop to get into programming, small app dev., and possibly even small game dev. I like the new Butterflay 2 keys more than most people but I also like the older keys as well. I believe I probably type faster on the older ones.

Pricing is an issue. I felt as thought the 256GB SSD option was rather small going forward which is why I was looking at the $2200 MBP 2015 but for an extract $100 I can get the 2017 with half the SSD size. But the stock 512GB 2017 is ~$500 more because it has a better GPU that I don't necessary need. But if battery life is crap that is also an issue. I already have a Windows desktop.

Just get whichever you want, either will satisfy your needs. I wouldn't be looking at physical size of the battery as this means nothing, it's about optimisations and efficiency. Otherwise we'd still have massive car battery sizes mobile phones. Battery life will be equal on both, 2017 is the newer model so if you're planning on keeping it for a while it will last longer than the 2015, which will be obsolete sooner.

It's a $400 difference between the 512gb 2015 and 512gb 2017. For that you're getting a faster CPU/SSD as well as a dedicated GPU, plus all the other advantages. Not bad value if you're happy to use either.

Than get from Apple a refurbished 2016 for 15% less. With warranty and as good as new. I newer saw a negative report about their refurb products
