New MBP advantages over Older Models for Video?

I use FCP and Motion3 a lot and am wondering if there are any speed advantages to buying the new MPB over getting a refurbished early 2008 2.6 model and adding my own RAM. Are the benchmarks on the new model that amazing that I must get it?

If you are considering a 2.53 or 2.8 then yes. The previous 2.4 actually has better video benchmarks than the current.
