New MBP and Dell Monitor

Hi everyone,
I'm eagerly waiting for my new 2.8ghz Macbook Pro and I'm looking to buy a monitor to use the extend mode. I am a musician and do a lot of work in Logic and other DAWs so I am not looking for a high end monitor but more screen real estate.
I have a college discount in Dell so I was looking to the 22" E228WFP model that goes for $219 or the new 24" S2409W for $322 in Dell's website, Best Buy has a $60 difference.
Any other recommendations for a similar price? Any issues with screen resolution/compatibility I might not be aware of? I am quite ignorant on display resolutions since I have never worried about them so all the help from you experts will be appreciated.

P.S.: I was really looking for a 17"!! well, maybe for macworld.

go for the 24" if you can as its 1920x1200 while the 22" usually has the same resolution as 20" displays 1680x1050 but stretched.

the 24" says the resolution is 1920x1080, not 1920x1200. Is this a big problem?

not thats just 16:9 which is the HD aspect ratio. it just means youll get less vertical space than a 1920x1200 16:10 24"/23" display.

Dell S2409W is 16:9 (Maximum Resolution 1920 x 1080)

unless you are talking about the Dell E248WFP / 2408WFP which is 1920x1200 (16:10)
