Hey I just got steam installed on boot camp (vista 64) and wanted to test some games. First I installed new drivers, 178.08, and they seemed fine, it didnt even give me an error when I installed like nvidia drivers usually do.

So I opened TF2 and it ran really well with the settings maxed and 2 AA. Then after about 10 mins it froze with the sound looping. What do you think is the problem?

My guess is that hl2.exe crashed? A video game crashed after 10 minutes of normal play doesn't mean that the computer hardware is at fault, especially when you are running it on Vista. I have Vista 32-bit PC (not Boot Camp) and TF2 crashes on me from time to time as well.

My suggestion? Verify the integrity of your cache files in Steam and try again.

Ok Ill do that, but it was a hard crash, I had to restart my mbp. Shouldve mentioned that. Its probably a heat, gpu, or driver thing imo.
