The Adirondacks.
For those who check these things, or are willing to check, I am curious what the current sourcing is. My understanding is :

5400 Drives=Toshiba

7200 Drives=Seagate.

Can people confirm? Thank you in advance. :)

My 15" i5 with 500GB 7200rpm just arrived, and System Profiler indicates it is the Seagate Momentus 7200.4.

Those of you that received the Seagate drives? Do you know if it's the models that have the free fall protection or g-force? In the system profiler under serial-ata the model number would end in a "g" if the drive includes this feature.

I'm only asking because I purchased a Seagate 7200.4 without that feature and was thinking maybe I would return it for the model that included free fall protection..

And for those that have the free fall protection, hows the drive been running in the macbook pro? Any issues with the drive or the free fall protection on the mac?

Any general issues with the drive to speak ok?

Thanx,

Greg

I'm in System Profiler, but I dont see a brand or model listed under SATA. Any tips?
