Hello
this time i'm finally decided to go for a MBP and get rid of my ageing pc.
i've been waiting almost a year for those new models and now i'm facing a dilemna: should i go reasonable and buy the (17") i5 version or the more expensive & heating i7 ?
that'll depend on what i do with it, you will reply, but surely i'm not the kind who can afford to buy a new model every 2-3 years so is it really worth investing in the most powerful chip to date ?

thanks for your opinions. :)

same argument as above...if you have some extra money that you're willing to spend then go with the i7.. if you're a bit tight on budget then go with the i5, although I can guarantee that even if you go with the i5 option it will last up to 4 years

i could fork out another 200$, if this ensures me optimal performances for several years, i think i'll go for it then...unless some upcoming tests here and there prove this wrong (battery life, etc).
thanks for your replies

EDIT and here's already some doubts in my mind : https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/896205/
