Hey guys,

Got a late 2011 base model 15" Macbook Pro. Got it, migrated my old Macbook 2007 time machine back up onto it.

I did notice it felt slightly slow but only recently as it got annoying.

Basically, anything that scrolls feels like i'm playing a game at 20fps. It feels choppy and laggy. And yes i've got inertial scrolling on and no it's nothing to do with that.

I had textedit and no other apps open, I scrolled down the document that was 25kb and there was a distinct lack of fluidity.

It's iTunes, iPhoto, Finder, Safari, Firefox... anything.

Surely it shouldn't be that laggy?

I've: uninstalled and reinstalled flash, run Diskut and analysed and repaired disk permissions deleted some files in Library (apple mouse driver files I think).

No joy. I've made an appointment for the genius bar this thursday... unfortunately.

HELP.

Cheers :)

Could be a problem with disc permissions or something else that got screwed up in the migration process, e.g. some system settings.

You could try to repair disc permissions... or wipe, reinstall Lion, and copy stuff manually.

How much memory do you have. See how much is free when it's slowing down
With scrolling.
