Hey guys,

Just bought both the unibody MBP and MB (for my brother), and I noticed my MBP's HD is a lot louder when idle than my brother's MB.

Does the bigger size mean more noise, or do you think I might have a faulty HD?

It will also start clicking once in a while, like every 10 seconds.

I know this is a common issue out there, but i'm just afraid I'd be returning it for nothing.

Just wish it was as silent as the MB though...

All answers are welcome,

Thanks

The bigger size makes no difference to the noise at all, the most important factor is the RPM of the drive, however if its unbearably loud just take it to a mac store and they'll pop a new one in for you

:)

Thank you.

It's not unbearable at all, but because I work in a silent room a lot, it becomes a bit annoying after a while.

This is my third mac laptop and I never had a similar issue.

BTW, it's the stock 250 GB 5400RPM from Hitachi.
