Hey,

I am a linux\windows guy and I just bought a 15" MBP 2.4ghz last week and I love it. Getting used to the transition to OS X is a little bit of a challenge, but I'm getting the hang of it. I have some software questions. I want to be able to rip my DVD's and store them on my NAS (soon to be a TB) and re-encode them so I can watch them on my MBP anywhere in my house. I can use MacTheRipper to rip em, but what should I use to turn them into MPEG 4?

Thanks,
Steve

You can use a program named Handbrake.

Have fun with your new Macbook Pro! Wish I could afford one.

I agree, Handbrake is what I use to turn all of my backups into a smaller playable file. Its a great software! Congrats on your new MBP.
