does it pay to get the 2.8 vs 2.4 which i have now previous version.

My mbp is a 1 1/2 years old 2.4 2gb ram does it pay to get the new one. i use it for home and travel use and most of the time i copy and burn DVD's i am also going to learn to work with videos as a hobby.

if i did buy one how would you speak it out.

If I interpret you correctly, you're asking if you should buy the new MBP for burning DVDs and minor video editing. If that's your question, then my answer is "no" - stick with your current MBP.

You will not notice any considerable performance improvement with the new MBP given your needs/uses. Stop watching the Apple commercials...
