There is always potential for an upgrade and no matter the size, 13", 15", 17", every new update makes the one in your had technically "old tech".![]()
Not unless you future-proofed.![]()
But you're not. No one who buys a Mac is "future proofed". No one.

How are you future-proofed if they release a completely new architecture?
do you reckon people who refer to their laptop as "bad boy" are the same people who name their penis?
i do
whoa, getting a little crazy in here!
Thx for the responses. I currently have a 2.5 GHz Penryn-Based MacBook Pro with Multitouch and 4GB RAM and 512 MB graphics card from 2008. Would it be stupid to upgrade to the new MBP's? I'm just feeling for a new machine![]()

Because my bad boy allows me to earn a living and play, that's how.![]()
That's not future proofing...
It may work very well for a while, but that doesn't mean it's future proofed.
The only part of a computer that could potentially be considered future proof is the case. And only on desktop towers! Even they aren't really future proof as cases get smaller along with smaller motherboards.
If my bad boy allows me to successfully earn a living for years then ergo I am future proofed as there will be no need for me to upgrade.
By that logic a clamshell ibook is "future proofed" as long as you earn your living by consulting via emails. I think you are underestimating what future proofed means. Also how mature is using a rolling eye emoticon.
