On Christmas Eve my late 2013 MacBook Pro met with an unfortunate accident with a Diet Pepsi. I'm surprised it took me 7 years to douse it as my disability makes me more clumsy than I care to admit. So here is my question:

The diet Pepsi wasn't a good fit with my first MBP so I had to order a replacement.

The doused MBP was my first so I started from scratch and other than my iTunes library, I transferred nothing else.

When my new MacBook Pro arrives this week; do I start from scratch again (most documents are in the iCloud) or can I partially transfer files from the old MBP to the new MBP?

I am assuming that as soon as I fire up the new toy it will recognize the old one and want to initiate a transfer. My problem is I suspect the old MBP is full of clutter that I don't need and that it is better to start fresh rather than transfer all of the data including the junk to the new MBP and then have to weed out the junk.

For those who have been here before what do you recommend?

I can still access the old MBP just some of the keys don't work anymore and I have to be a little creative to get around that.

Thanks in advance for any insight,

Stevi
