New MBP: Use Time Machine Backup or Start Fresh??

I just got my MacBook Pro replacement and starting to make it just like my older one via settings, MobileMe Sync, ect.

Should I use a Time Machine backup or is it better to start fresh? Does it make any difference at all?

Does Time Machine install/clone applications also or just files/documents?

You can select whether you want just files or apps or everything. I would just do TM

Stupid question now......how do I get TM to move a backup to the new MBP?
