New MBP user,have a quick question

Just a quick question. Got my MBP yesterday,love it so far. The light under the Finder icon is lit, is this always supposed to be lit? I know when you close everything else the light goes out. Thanks for the help. John

Yes, as Finder is ALWAYS running, except in the rare case of Finder crashing.

The light under the icons on the Dock indicate that the app is running. Yes, Finder is normally running all the time, or it wouldn't display items on your desktop.
