So here is an odd problem -- I swapped out the drive in my new MPB to a Western Digital Scorpio Blue 500GB. I closed the lid this morning and left it unplugged, and the machine went to sleep. I came home later and the machine was off, battery entirely drained. Doh.

So I just hooked it up to power and then shut the lid to see what the problem was. Machine went to sleep, then woke up again after it went to sleep.

What can cause that? It has to be the new drive as nothing else is changed.

When it came back on, did you want to see if it would sleep by itself again? I've seen a few times on an older machine this happen, haven't seen it on my new MBP yet.

Also in the room is anyone using an Apple remote? I've found the IR remote will wakeup a machine from sleep (very annoying).

I'd say it has nothing to do with the new hard drive and everything to do with the fact that a lot of people are having the same issue so its probably a software problem. :)
