I recently purchase a MBP and was wondering what The things i need to have with it. Give me any advice on software,hardware or anything in general i should get to make life go smooth.

I recommend you to check out the mac applications thread.. it has a sticky with all of the sites for free must-have softwares. Here are some tips:

Dont forget to calibrate your battery

100 must have

iusethis is also good for software research

Get a Speck shell and an iSkin keyboard cover.
 
For software VLC is great!

First thing to do, order a couple (pair) of 2GB RAM chips -- upgrade the RAM on the MBP to 4GB. Good place to get these is OWC (macsales.com) or transintl.com -- should run you abour $100 or just over that.

That's what I do, it will ensure you get peak performance from your system
