Hi all

new MBP about 2 months old.
When I lift the lid on this, it's supposed to turn on automatically, right? Ot do I need to press the button - top right - beside the siri key.

Ocassionally and even when plugged in, I open the MBP and the screen stays black.

That's one thing I miss about the old 2011 MBP I had. There was a power light on the charger lead coming into the MBP. On this, I have no idea is there's power or what's happenning.

Is this a common issue?
Thanks

I'd stick to the button on the keyboard. The lid electric connection makes and break multiple times confusing the CPU.

It happens. It's the same with my Google Pixel Chromebook. I'd rely on the keyboard power button than the lid.

I use GalliumOS on my Chromebook not Chrome OS.

Out of interest can you disable the wake on opening in settings and use just the power button as on pre 2016 models?
