Reading thru the specs of the new MBPr (e.g. Haswell) and noticed the following....

Dual display and video mirroring: Simultaneously supports full native resolution on the built-in display and up to 2560 by 1600 pixels on up to two external displays, both at millions of colors

Is this saying the New MBPr will not support 4k external displays (e.g. 3840 × 2160)? Kind of thought that was at least half of what TB2 was all about. Also, was thinking the dGPU was a benefit in this area (dual display support) and possible reason to move towards the high-end. Starting to think differently, need input...

Yep, so I guess 4k is supported via HDMI. Still makes me think, "what a waste of a TB2 port". No biggie now, but hoping a 4k external display/hub comes out at a reasonable price in the next couple years and that I would be ready for it.
