Hi guys.
I currently have a mid 2010 Macbook running on the latest 10.10.4 beta. I have just bought a new Macbook Pro which is running 10.10.3.
When I went to use setup assistant on the new laptop to migrate, I directly connected them both, but wasn't able to use setup assistant to migrate because the older Macbook is running a newer version of software.
However, it looks as though I'm able to use setup assistant with a time machine backup (even though it's created by a newer software version).
Does setup assistant work exactly the same way with time machine, as it does when the laptops are directly connected? (i.e does it still migrate, and not restore?).
Will there be any problems using setup assistant to migrate with a time machine backup created on a newer version of OS X?
Thanks!
