as stated, amazon uk have taken all their mbp's from sale. they can still be purchased from third parties from the marketplace, but there is no option to buy from amazon direct. it doesn't even say out of stock. things are looking good! :D
note that the normal macbook is still available.
sorry for the poor grammar, I'm kind of rushing.

They do this quite often. They get a stock of MBPs in, they start the price quite low, eg around £820 for the 13". As the stock diminishes the price goes up until it reaches near the £899 rrp. Then they go out of stock and the page directs you to a reseller with an outrageously high price. This persists for a couple of weeks, then the cycle begins again.

So lack of MBPs is not necessarily a sign of anything significant.

yea thats the thing though, there is literally no option as having amazon as the seller, which there usually is during the cycle you mentioned.

If you're talking about pages like this
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/offer-li...w?ie=UTF8&qid=1270843185&sr=8-1&condition=new

I've seen it like this before. I watched it for a few weeks before I bought mine in December. If it follows the same pattern as before, give it another week and Amazon will have them back in themselves, I would guess at about £840.

I might be wrong of course!

I take it back - you're right there are no 13s, 15s or 17s in stock. I have no experience of that - I was only looking at 13s last year. So ignore everything I said! Your observation could be very significant.

thank you ;) I understand what you were trying to say though, but this time they arent even 'out of stock' which I have never seen!

spread the word, this is big!

Take this with a grain of salt, but, like many others, MBPs are completely unavailable from Best Buy in my area. You can't even get them shipped online.

no one else think this is big news?
or would you rather wait for some guy, who 'knows stuff' to tell you theyre coming? and then spend 1000 posts talking about it?

this is probably one of the best indicators we have had yet.

There's this kind of info in the waiting for arrandale topic. There're lot of resellers confirmation about the MBP release on 13th. Sorry dude, but you did not discovered the Atlantide.;)

Tuesday the 13th April it is, then! :D

Reason why people perhaps aren't commenting is that I think there's a certain apathy given all the false starts/rumours/hopes over the last few months. Feels like it's been dragging on forever.

But given the fact you CANNOT now buy any variant - 13, 15 or 17 - from Amazon, Best Buy and John Lewis, the 13th looks promising.

It has to be, otherwise Apple wont sell anything this week due to MBPs being unavailable to buy (other than from Apple direct).

I hope for more than just a refresh. Jobs said "new Macs for 2010 would take Apple to the next level". Hope that statement included macbook pros.
+ IPS screen with higher resolution 1600x900 (or x1000) for 13"
+ more RAM
+ i5 in low end/i7 in high end
+ SSD
+ great discrete ATI GPU

No price increase.

It coulb be quite nice.

I have selected the 13 inch and 15 inch and I can buy either one from bestbuy, shipped or picked up.

edit, put in zipcode 11581, it will tell you the brooklyn store and the westbury store both have them available.

I understand what you’re saying. I was referring to the fact that you cannot get Best Buy to ship it from a warehouse to your home, meaning that the only stock that they have left are in their stores.

The MBPs are coming!!!
