New MBPU 17" owners: What are your daily routines?

As I´m hitting week 2 of the new life with the 17", I´m starting to notice my habtits an routines with the machine.

- I´m mostly on battery, 90% with the 9400 Nvidea card (254MB)
- I use approx 1 battery round a day, which means 4.5 - 7hours on the machine.
- I use the machine approx 65% at home and 35% away from home.
- Superdrive: I´ve only used the Superdrive once or twice, nothing more.
- Ports: I use one of the USB ports for storing to a memory stick daily. I use the firewire 800 for my external harddrive (500GB mybook) approx every third day.
- Webcam: I´ve used the integrated webcamera once or twice for photobooth.
- The programs I mostly use are Word (50%), Safari/Firefox (30%), Photoshop (10%) and Itunes (10%). Other progs are also used, but only very little.
- Keyboardlights: I use the keyboard light daily (approx half strength)
- Brightness: I´m usually on full or one-two notches down.
- Speakers: For music I´m 90% on Ipod touch. Other than that, I´m 90% on headphones.

transfer everything over to X Code
realize none of my programs i just made are going to work with Snow Leopard
Slap myself
Load Snow Leopard beta
realize Parallels doesn't work on Snow Leopard beta
get very frustrated
start again...

- I'm almost always on 9600GT video card (80% of the time)
- The only time I'm on the 9400M is in class, but if I have too much stuff opened, I wouldn't bother logging out.
- I use the battery close to 2-4 cycles a day. Each time on battery, the CPU is running constantly above 50%, which doesn't give me great battery life especailly with a 100% brightness screen + 50%+ cpu usage on both cores and a 9600GT video card. I'm at 34 cycles in 2 weeks.
- Speakers: If I'm away from my speaker set, I would use the speakers. Normally its kept at 60%-80%, sometimes higher.
- Superdrive: I haven't used it since my install of my Printer Drivers.
- Ports: I use the USB and Headphones and MagSafe only
- Webcam: I use it constantly, mostly at night to webcam with my friends
- Programs: VMWare Fusion constantly, almost 100% active/running. Firefox always opened also with the occasional quit/restart due to a odd CPU leak. iChat, Mail.app, iCal, iTunes, MSN Messenger, TextMate, Adobe Acrobat Pro 9. Just to list a few.

I have only had it for a few days but I've been spending time just figuring out the OS, installing software and experimenting. I have it just about set up perfect. Everything's backed up with time machine and I cloned another drive with C.C.C....just in case.

In order of usage its:

Word
Entourage
Firefox
Photoshop
Lightroom
Itunes
Parrallels
Dreamweaver......(I'm trying to learn)


- Plugged in always. I run the battery down every few days.
- I use the machine 90% home.
- I tested the Gt card once or twice but otherwise its been the 9400.
- Superdrive: I've only used the Superdrive once
- Ports: Just USB so far. Its a real shame Apple couldn't separate those USB ports just a little, there too close together.
- Webcam: once, in the setup.
- Keyboardlights: whatever the auto setting is.
- Brightness: Plenty bright. No dim screen here! probably @ 75%
- Speakers: I stream music to a Bose radio in the kitchen or a amp in the living room. (Audio engine A-1)
