new model ipod free with education discount?

If apple announces ilife 2011 and the new ipods on tuesday, will it be possible ordering one of those for free with the education discount promo currently running?

I hear that on 1 Sep. apple will introduce the new stuff at the big event and the back-to-school promo runs until 7 Sep, so does that mean there is a brief overlap or would i still get the old model?

You will still get the old model. People try this every year. The new iPods will have different part numbers than the ones that are available today. As such they will be excluded. Infact, this is some wording from the 2008 bts promo:

Please be advised that Apple announced new iPod products on September 9, 2008. These new iPod products are not eligible for the Back to School promotion. Rebate claims submitted in conjunction with these products will not be honored.
Along with the new iPod launch, Apple reduced the price on prior-generation iPod devices—the ones that are eligible for the promotion. This impacts the promotion rebate amount.

ah allright, i didnt know they actually put that in the conditions. well now just hope for ilife 2011 next week, at least that would be installed on my MBP for free instead of the current version.
