Are there any larger monitors with a glass/glossy screen at around £300 or less? had a look round and unfortunately cannot afford a Thunderbolt display just yet :(

I have a "budget" Asus 23 inch 1080p monitor sitting next to my 15 in Macbook Pro. At the time I bought it, it cost about $150. If you're willing to stay in the 24 inch range, there are a lot of options. Once you go to 27 inches or more, things get a lot more limited, especially if you want 4K. If you can live with a mere 1080p, even at 27 inches I think you could easily find a monitor for under £300.

Mine is one of the "better" models in that it has DVI, VGA and HDMI inputs. The TB to HDMI adapter is relatively cheap so I suggest getting a model that has HDMI input even if it costs a little more. Checking Amazon.co.uk, I found a lot of 1080p 27 in monitors at 1080p that were £300 or less but when searching for 4K models, the prices jumped up to £450 or more.
