New MPB, Lion Install asking for Apple ID?

so, just bought a macbook pro off someone and they reset lion 10.7. once i boot it up it boots up the recovery partition, i tried to re-install lion but it asks for an apple id. i asked the seller but he was unaware of what apple id he needed. he then bought mountain lion and gave me that apple id so i was wondering if i enter the apple id in which mountain lion was bought will it work?

thanks for the reply, buying mountain lion did not solve the issue. i am going to phone apple support up tomorrow and see what they can do

Just create a Mountain Lion install disk USB flash drive. My Mac Mini came with Lion and internet recovery will only get Lion. So I've created a USB install drive and clean installed ML.
