Hi All,

Just to let you know, a new MSN client has been released for Power PC and Intel Macs, version 6.01. Here are its newer features:

*Chat with Yahoo! Messenger contacts
*Add a status message that your personal contacts can see
*Share what you are listening to in iTunes with your personal contacts
*Create, send, and receive custom emoticons with personal contacts
*Send and receive custom animated emoticons with personal contacts
*Search for conversation histories using Spotlight
*Check the spelling in your instant messages

This is the first new Universal binary of MSN, and while it still doesn't support Webcam's, it is getting closer to the later versions of the Windows version 6.

Grab it here: http://www.microsoft.com/mac/downlo...n=/mac/download/misc/messenger60_download.xml

Might have to try it out. But i like mercury messenger. Took me about two hours to configure it, but its perfect for me.

edit: love this part, "Instead of having tabs for your Personal and Corporate accounts, Messenger now has a separate window for each account." Isn't tabed browsing in IE 7 near impossible? Guess they don't want to take a chance in getting into un-known territory....5 year old territory. Id rather have 20 tabs open, than 20 windows and have to sift thru all of them.

Adium all the way for me. Can personalise it so well and its one of my favourite apps. Again no video though, but ah well, still great.

I agree completely! Adium has been universal for months and has had MSN support since the beginning. I don't see a reason to have multiple programs to run your various chatting clients, Adium does it all and is completely customizeable!

You're only about a week late ;)

I want webcam support though...

He may be a week late, but this is still news to me! I'm downloading it right now.

I have to say that I'm now using MSN instead of Adium, especially because over here, MSN is basically the only IM system people have ever heard of.

It's become a synonym for it, unfortunatly. So, if you can't beat 'em, join 'em

Huh? But you can use an MSN account on Adium. What does it matter what other users use. You can still run Adium and chat to someone using MSN (and many other clients besides).

I know, but MSN for Mac has, for me, better features, like the iTunes integration. I also experienced less problems.
