Because of O2 being forced to use the paper system and processing the contracts later, mine, and probably other people's accounts wouldn't be processed and activated with a phone number for a day or so, well this is how I understand the situation anyway.

My question is: are any new customer's contracts, who were processed using the paper system, active yet? Pretty sure mine isn't as it's said "No Service" all day, but everything else is working absolutely perfectly otherwise :)

Mine started working this afternoon but my signal strength is very poor and sometimes it drops to "no service" just like it was before activation. I didn't have great signal strength with my previous phone (Samsung D500) but the service never disappeared completely. I'm going to speak to O2 about this to see what can be done.

By the way I bought my phone at lunchtime on Friday using the paper application.

Cheers,
Craig.

I got my iPhone on Friday late afternoon. Still not active as of yet. Hopefully today *fingers crossed*

Just got off the Phone to Apple Store, Meadowhall. Basically, the form I had to fill out didn't have all the details they needed on it. I wouldn't mind, but I asked if it was filled out fully. I could barely read what it said on the form, and my eyesight isn't exactly the greatest.

Alas, I've now been told upto 24 Hours... I'm hoping it will be more like 2. *fingers and toes crossed*

i got mine first thing friday morning, was activated friday evening however service is getting better but sitll intermittant

Mine's now fully activated, after a call to the O2 store yesterday I was told the sim they've given me couldn't be activated for one reason or another. So I've got a brand new sim, all working beautifully now! Love how SMS are displayed inparticular, very swish and just like iChat.

I'm still 'No Service'
:(

Same here dude. I got mine Friday afternoon and 'paperwork' was filled in in store. Spoke with 02 three times yesterday.

9.30am - All phones will be activated today.

4.00pm - We will call you back within the next 5 hours to let you know the phone has been activated.

8.30pm - (Call Back) They took more details from me and informed me the phone would be activated within the next 24hrs.

TODAY 11.50am - Still 'No Service' displaying on my phone but i guess i've got up to 8.30 tonight to wait and see!

PAC Codes - Supplied PAC Code on Friday to 02. Since then i've been trying to find out how long it takes to port a number over, i got three different answers from the three different calls! Fantastic! I don't really want to start using my new phone until my numbers been ported over, so there's a good change i'll have the phone over one whole week without using it as a phone!

Queued for six hours because their servers were up the creek on Friday, got one in my hands at 5:15.

Phoned Sunday after their website said 2-3 days to activate, and got told within 24 hours.

Phoned Monday, and spoke to a guy who took exactly the same details the O2 person did over the phone with an Apple bod in-store. He also gave me his extension number, and said any problems give him a call, but otherwise activation within 24 hours.

Phoned today, and got told he shouldn't have given me that number as they can't put customers through to extensions. Apparently they'll all be activated today.

All this, and I haven't even started using the service yet. It doesn't look good really, does it?!

where did you buy your phone from?

I filled in the paper forms and spoke to 02 on the phone with all my bank details. This is getting so silly now.

where did you buy your phone from?

Got it from the Apple Store (Trafford Center). I didn't speak to them on the day but the Apple dude gave them all my details over the phone.

One of the calls yesterday though i gave them all the same details again over the phone.

01.56pm - 'No Service'

Typical. I reseted network settings to see it stick at 1 bar of signal before going to No Service.

I might take my break at work around 6 just incase they call me.

I hate carrying two phones with me. lol
