New Orleans cry for help!

We are not ok.
We are forgotten by our leaders in Washington D.C..
As New Orleans goes, so will the USA.
Please take a moment and consider what it means.
Our very lives depend on it.
In my neighborhood, less than 20% of the original population has been able to return. Our houses and in shambles, we have been invaded by criminals, and the very existence of our culture is on life support. We don't want a hand-out, just a hand getting back on our feet. New Orleans is my mother and she is badly beaten up. This is a distress call. We will not forget all that has been done and will be done to save her.

I saw a special on New Orleans earlier this week. It is a super sad story. We all should help as much as we can.

And with the amount of crap that Houston has had to put up with as a result (increacing crime, etc), I wonder how jaded those near by and those reading/listening to/watching reports around the country are going to get. I count myself as one...
