Hey everyone,

My iPhone 4S is shutting off randomly by itself multiple times a day (usually below 40% battery life). It is out of warranty so a swap for a refurb would cost $200. I was hoping to hold out for the new phone this fall.

I have taken it to the Genius Bar already and tried everything you could imagine as a fix. The genius said he would personally hold off for a new iteration and deal with it.

Would you hold off for a few months, pony up the $200 or just buy the 5 if you were in my shoes?

Thank you,

ZLM

1) Swap and place the 4S on Craigslist for $300. Net $100. Purchase iPhone 5 off contract.

2) Purchase iPhone 5 off contract and sell for $500 the week before iPhone 5S is released. Use 4S for that week.

3) Buy iPhone 5 under contract and be happy with the best iPhone I've used. The 5S appearance won't change.
