I finished my PC build today, at least the hardware part of it. There is a lot of software and files yet to be loaded. While it may look like a gamers build, it is for photo and video editing. I don't game. Adobe Creative Cloud and all the AI driven apps take a lot of horsepower, as does DxO PureRaw 4 and Topaz Photo AI to name just a few..

With the latest ASUS BIOS, CPU performance has been exemplary. I could do without all the bling but the HAF X case was what I've used for my last two builds and I had hoped this generation would be similar while having USB C and Thunderbolt connections I want for fast file transfer speeds. And yes, I do fill up a lot of storage space, all duplicated on a NAS and the PC this one replaces.

Found a small end table to get the new PC off the floor and think this might be its final home. I share the Dell with my MacBook Pro M2 Max.

Love all of the fans. I like the approach of running large fans at slower speeds for less noise.

That has been a welcome surprise. For now it is whisper quiet. I can't hear anything unless I put my ear a few inches from the case. The two 200mm fans on the front of the case are the only ones without LED but they don't need any with the ARGB tempered glass Intake Blades on the front. I am interested to see what happens when I run a large AI driven photo editing batch process or render videos. Thanks.

That's always been one of the old silent PC tricks. Last thing you want is a smaller fan doing 6000rpm, that's terrible.

I had a PCI-E SSD storage card for one of my older 5,1 Mac Pros that had a small high RPM fan, it was so loud I quickly got rid of it.

I'm thinking of building a new PC at the moment but debating to go a full size case or a smaller one. The biggest problem is PC cases are so ugly - I'm used to Mac Pro 2019 and almost everything in the world doesn't live up to that standard. I definitely don't want my computer to look like a shoe!

Perhaps Fractal Design North or Torrent...

I am looking to go full SFF case (probably air cooling). Been looking at SSUPD Meshroom D/S cases. Though I will admit ATX is cheaper than ITX.

I went for a North (black, mesh) and have been very happy with it. The Torrent would be my second choice.

I agree that Mac Pros (including the cMP) set a high bar for build quality. The thick aluminium panels exude quality.

Hope it serves you well!!

Wonder if they would add vent holes to the glass side??

Very cool setup. Should last a few years!!
