New Powerbook question

I just got my new PB yesterday and I love it! But, I want to keep my old email address which is through MSN. I was told that he only way to do this would be to add MSN for mac? I was wondering if I added MSN for Mac would I then be vulnerable to all the viruses that are common to the PC world? Any insights anyone may have would be great?

just download messenger for mac...it works well and is secure....
