I recently picked up a 1st gen G4 mac mini for about £40 or something close.

Well, I spent my first day riding a motorcycle, got my CBT (provisional licence that allows you to drive a 125cc bike for you non-UK people), got back, sat on facebook for a wee while and found myself a Power Mac G5 for £50.

£50!!! FIFTY QUID!

2 Ghz Power PC. 4GB DDR2 RAM, 500GB Hard Drive, not sure on the VRam yet. Will double check in the morning when I get the mouse dug out.

Also came with an apple keyboard an official Leopard 10.5 disk. Chuffed!

That's awesome man! Welcome to the PowerPC club!

I'm dead chuffed with it. Problem is I can't find a damn dvi cable or my USB mouse, so I've had to order some off amazon.

Since I don't have a DVI cable to hook it up at the moment, I took the machine apart to clean.

The graphics card is the 256Mb Nvidia Geforce 6600.

Ahh so you've got yourself a dual core late 2005 model so. The best and final line of G5's :)

You are going to have a real fun time getting that G5 home on the back of a 125cc bike. :D

In all seriousness, that is a very nice computer that will serve you well. I am not sure what that converts to in terms of US dollars, but it doesn't sound that high.

£50 is $75.80.

It works! Got a DVI cable and USB mouse. Re-installed leopard, popped another HDD into it so it now has 1Tb of storage and it works perfect!
