Not sure if this has been posted somewhere else but was wondering why the apple uk store has reduced the price of the macbook from £749 to £699 and not reduced the US store price?

Probably,

Its saves me some time as I was waiting to move across to my first mac when visiting NY in a couple of months (due to the cheaper price).

Think i will now buy it here in the UK now!

The US price is cheaper if you purchase using edu discount. The price starts at $999 vs the old $1049. :D
