New Pricing Plans for iPhone 3g

I just came from a AT&T store and they had iPhone Plans posted.
Calling plans start at $59.99 for the same 450 minutes that you get now for $39.99!
The Data Plans are all Unlimited internet but $20. get you 200 text, $30.get you 1500 text and $40. get unlimited texting. So we are looking at minimum
$80.00! like I said this comes from a posting inside AT&T store.

this press release from the att sites shows a different pricing scheme, it is actually the one that has been reported for the last couple of days, $39.99+$30.00

The data plans for the iPhone 3G start @ $30 which is the same for all AT&T smartphones.

Yes, I asked one of the sales persons there and those are for new iPhone 3g.
I'm going to have to pay $20. more for same plan I have now.

It's $39.99 for 450 minutes and $30 for unlimited data.

See the AT&T press release linked from the above iPhone 3G page. It states that 3G data is now $30/month and voice plans start at $40/month.

It does not say if that $40/month calling plan still contains 450 minutes but AT&T can't be *that* evil and stupid can they? Does 3G allow me to talk on the phone faster too?

The salesperson is wrong. AT&T isn't jacking up the voice plans too -- they'd lose way too much business, as they're already near the top in terms of $$/minutes. Plus, there's no justification for it...nothing about the iPhone requires special voice treatment. It's on the same rate plans as every other smartphone.

sorry to be a jerk, but you have no idea what you're talking about. plans still start at $40, and data is $30..... $70 is the cheapest you're going to get it for.

Ya I know...
I was really looking forwards to getting an iPhone in the next few months, but somethings are starting to make me think twice.
I don't know a lot, but I think the iPhone doesn't have picture messaging?
I send a lot of texts and my current plan has unlimited, so that thirty dollars is for internet, and then another twenty for the texts? That's insane.
