New problem, New Hard Drive not being recognized (old disc stuck was remedied)

New problem, now when trying to reinstall os x, the installer won't reconize the new hard drive installed, how do I go about making it visible

Ok here's my connundru, I had a new hard drive installed into my iBook G4 after the previous one had burnt out and died. Well upon going to put my reinstall disc into the slot I notice a disc still inside. Is there any way to get this thing out, the eject button does nothing, help please?

Its at the select a destination volume to install mac os x software that no disc volume shows up.

Now anyone that had your original problem is not going to be able to search for a solution in the forums search.

Format it in Disk Utility.

Is format simply the erase ?
