I have everything down for H.264 m4v containers DVD rip encodes set. The last issue is regarding grain and sharpness.
I noticed Deblocking and Psychovisual settings can impair grain and sharpness immensely, esp. when viewing on a 50" (Have a 50" Pioneer Elite Kuru).
I set Deblocking to 1,1 and realized -1,-1 is best for motion/DVD.
Psy-RD and Trellis further sharpness and grain. There is a lot of debate on this issue. I do not want the picture to be too sharp causing grain nor do I want it to blurry. It's the balance and keeping the lossy DVD as close to lossless as possible (don't care at all about compression/size of m4v).
Settings of Psy-RD=1.5 and Psy-Trellis=.70 have been recommended as well as 1,1.
Any suggestions from you guys would finally drive the last nail in this four month long learning process of digitizing my SD and BD DVD's rips. Thanks for any help!
