My brother just bought the newest 21.5 iMac for the upcoming semester of studio. He got 16GB of ram from OWC to replace the stock 4GB (2x 2GB). He said i could have the stock ram if i wanted it.

I know the speed on the ram for my late 09 iMac is 1067 MHz. The new ram is 1333, so I'm wondering will it work in my iMac? I've read that it'll clock at the lower speed but overall it'll work.

I currently just have the stock ram in my iMac (2x 2GB).

It should work. I think the 27" iMac has four ram slots. You might be able to use all four ram sticks at once.
