I installed some ram over a week ago in my imac, and everything seemed to work great so I forgot to do more in-depth tests until recently. Apple Hardware Test found something, so did memtest, and took me a few days but I think I took out the problematic stick and now AHT isn't detecting anything. I did one memtest earlier (in single user mode) and everything seems fine, going to try a few more times later to make sure its ok (it just takes a while).

Anyway, my question is- would any data have been corrupted while I had that ram installed? I did a few things on the computer after installation, like set up a Parallels VM and moved around some files, although I have a time machine backup from before I tried. I read the apple support article for how to install more ram, but forgot to check macrumors' guide for it so I didn't know about the possibility of data corruption. Any way to check if any data was corrupted?

I haven't noticed anything odd on the computer I think, at least nothing obvious like system freezing up for minutes or kernel panics, and even when I had the ram installed didn't have any problems surfing or playing games or stuff like that, but just asking to make sure before I update my time machine backup, don't want any corrupted data to get mixed up with my backup. Most of the topics involving ram and data corruption is after problems have popped up which is why I'm posting a new topic.

I'm mostly sure something was wrong with one of the ram sticks, as memtest reported data mismatches and AHT picked up something. Although now memtest says the "memory request is too large, reducing to acceptable value", but I think that's ok?
