Hello, after having my white plastic 2007 macbook far so long, I decided to upgrade it!

I just purchased a new 15" retina macbook pro and I'm awaiting delivery.

I was pleased to find out that they now have a HDMI port. I did some more searching and the product description on http://www.johnlewis.com/231656820/Product.aspx say that it's a "HDMI input".

I am to assume that this is a mistake on John Lewis's website? Surely the HDMI port is for output (to a TV).

Can someone confirm that the new MBP's have HDMI output.

i can confirm.. i use it daily in school with a DELL monitor, and also at home hooked up to my Samsung TV, both VIA the built in HDMI.

Enjoy your new mac :)

Yup,

I also use the HDMI out - You can ofcourse continue to use any mini display port adapters (which I often do to keep my power cable and display output on the same side).
