Hi,
my brand new Retina MacBook Pro emits noise in two situations:

1.
When using the SSD a high pitched noise is produced, it is located where the SSD is. The noise is reproducable with BlackMagic Disk Speed Test. This occurs with 4 out of 4 rMBP I have tested.

2.
When doing anything which involves graphic, another noise is generated. Reproducable by simply scrolling a webpage.

Is this normal behaviour?

Some very faint whine noise is nothing to be worried about, but its certainly not supposed to be loud and obtrusive.

I got the same problem, i can hear a noise especially when i put the brightness level of my macbook to the lowest level (1 bar), do you experience it as well?

What your describing sounds like normal electronics noise.

I think in our overly OCD world a little humility and Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Mac? should apply here.

It is quite annoying when I work in a very quite environment, especially at night, where i have to set the screen to the lowest brightness, no OCD..
