I bought a brand-new Series 4 (GPS&Cellular) from BestBuy today and I am having major issues trying to get it setup. My iPhone Xs is running OS 13.2.3 so it is up to date.
The watch begins the process and pairs with the phone. Then it goes to the screen that tells me that the watch needs to have the latest Watch OS and then I chose to “update”. It starts thinking and then eventually gives me the error message that the update could not be done because I am not connected to the internet. I have full Wi-Fi and I can go to other sites, receive emails, etc…
I tried skipping the update process and chose to setup the watch as a new watch. It then asks which wrist I prefer and once I make that selection, the whole process just hangs up again. The only way out is to close down the watch app which un-pairs the watch and start again.
Long story short, I can’t get this thing going regardless of my attempts. I have paired, unpaired, reset network settings, powered off the phone and watch several times, and I spent some time chatting with Apple to no avail. Apple customer service says that the servers are up and running, so it’s not on their end.
Any ideas or suggestions?
