New Service at Apple Store?

I am currently with Google's Project Fi and I am planning to switch to an iPhone when the new ones are released and I will also need to switch carriers(Probably Verizon).

Can I sign up for new Verizon service at the Apple store, Or will I need to visit a Verizon store to get the service started?

I believe that you will have to sign up for Verizon service at a Verizon store. Once you are a customer, however, you will be able to go to the Apple Store and purchase your devices.

Can't sign up for new service at Apple Store online but they will let you in brick and mortar Apple Stores.
