Sounds more than good enough. My only advice to others in doubt is to
check out the ones advertized at apple.com. I got the Brenthaven Eclipse III myself. Point is: Most of the products that reaches the Apple store will be of pretty solid quality.

It won't be any protection, because the Unibody 17" won't fit in in.

Go check the max laptop dimensions on Booq's site.

(I wanted to get this same one…)

I think you'll find it will fit in, ive already checked it!
It only wont fit hard cases,(such as the speck plastic shell) but soft furry cases like the booq are fine.
The dimensions dont matter too much because the new MBP 17" is only SLIGHTLY bigger (a few mm if that) and the case is furry giving it a little extra space so its fits.
Please only comment on something if your sure about what your talking about.

How 'bout posting a photo? I'd really like to pick one of these up but, according to Apple's and Booq's sites, it won't fit… and of course no one wants their new aluminum baby getting scraped against the zippers!

I just contacted Booq. They said that it fits with the new unibody 17" MBP. It was tested at Macworld in San Francisco in January. Also, if you look on their website.. if you choose "find your laptop" at the top of the screen, and select Apple, and "new 17-inch Macbook Pro".. it leads you to the Vyper XL2.

They said they do not plan to make a new sleeve for the unibody 17" MBP because the current one fits it like a glove.

Awesome, thanks a bunch for posting this information!
