With the rumors of the new smaller 19-pin connector for the iPhone, do you think they will make a similar change to the existing iPad lines (3 and maybe 2)? Or will they wait for a iPad 4?

A midstream spec change did happen when the 3 came out (I think), I thought they updated some hardware in the 2 when the 3 came out.

Only the battery was updated but the 19 pin connector will not find it's way into the current iPads on market as Apple would have to redesign the the iPads. It'll most likely fall into the iPad 4.

Depending on the speed difference between the new and old dock connectors, they might design another one for the iPad 4 that is the same size as the current one, but capable of much faster transfer in order to compliment the massive battery. That's if they don't manage to optimize it within the year.
