HI,
(DCR-SR80)Sony Handycam 60GB Hard Disk Drive Camcorder or any Hard Disk Drive Camcorder have swith to USB. can usb that still work my mac imovie.

Short answer - no. Sony doesn't provide software for Macs. There is no way to take the MPEG2 clips directly into iMovie.

Longer answer; you can get some third party software to convert the file types to something usable. Reputedly, MPEG Streamclip will help you here

Longer answer yet -- take the camera back if you can and get a MiniDV camera. You'll get better picture quality than MPEG2 compression, and easier editing on the Mac.

Same problem

Ran into same problem tonight. Would love to have another option. Sony lists some software that can be used for the conversion in the operating guide. The software can be found at http://www.pixela.co.jp/oem/sony/e/ Unfortunately, the software costs $153 for downloads, CD, and extended download. Here is quote from site.
