I cannot for the life of me, figure out how to connect this camera to my Macbook Pro.

I don't see a firewire port on the new version of this camera.

Any help will be very greatly appreciated.

There is definitely a firewire port (4-pin) which is probably labeled either as i.Link or DV. Just plug it in to your mac and you should be good to go.

Well, there is an iLink cable that plugs into the side of the camera. It is labelled HDV/DV

However, I cannot see anywhere to plug the other end of the cable into the Mac.

The i.Link port on your camera is a 4-pin firewire, and your mac has a 6-pin. You need to get a 4-pin to 6-pin firewire cable (like this). Plug the 4-pin side into your camera and the 6-pin side into the firewire port on the right side of your macbook pro.

The Port Is Inside The Drop Down Door Below The Swing Out Screen-Memory Stick Area

Don't you have a manual? The port is the one next to the BLUE LANC port second from the front. It's clearly labeled HDV/DV with an "i" to the left of it.

Thank you. I'll head out Monday and get the 4 to 6 wire.

Much appreciated.

Has anyone been able to get iMovie or FCP to recognize this camera? I've never been able to get it connected.
