are there any apps out there where you can add new sounds to the SMS alerts on the iphone 3G jailbroken ?
You don't need an application. You can simply replace the .caf file with the new sound you want. For example:
To change the key typing sound replace Tock.caf with your new sound labled Tock.caf.
Reboot...
Poof. New sounds.
