New SSD, disable TE before installing Apple Update?

So thanks to this forum, I installed a new Samsung 850 SSD on my 2011 MBP. Recently, apple produced a new update that require's a restart. When I initially asked for help installing my new SSD, someone commented that I had to disable trim enabler, re-enable kext signing, then install the update and once the update from apple is installed, disable kext, then turn Trim Enabler back on and restart a few times. I just wanted to double check and make sure that is the proper way to go about installing this new update from apple. Thank you in advance for your help, don't know where I'd be if I never discovered this place.

Yes, that's the correct way to do it Failing to do so will lead to an unbootable system (Disk not being recognised by the OS)
