I've just installed a new Intel 520 series SSD drive in my Late 2008 MacBook Pro and am getting constant beachballs no matter what I click on.
I did a fresh install of Lion as well. For example, I'll click an icon in the dock and it just sits there and then the beachball starts to spin. I end up waiting between 30-40 seconds before I can click somewhere else. What kind of upgrade is this? Does anyone know what I can do?
I've now just wiped the drive again and have installed Snow Leopard. It also is showing beachballs, but not quite as bad. Either way it's a major downgrade from my stock HDD.
Please help! I'd really like to use a SSD.

Check the ssd alignment. Google for it. I had to realign my wife's ssd and it made a big difference.
