New SSD upgrade option for Macbook Air 2012

The Samsung EVO 860 M.2 SSD supersedes the 850 EVO. Apparently it has a new controller that adds support for higher speed DDR4 RAM etc.

Question is, when used with the correct pin adaptor from Syntech, will this work in the Macbook Air 2012?
anyone tried it out?

I have a 2012 i7 2ghz MBA 2012 with 256GB ssd....would like to bump it up to 500gb.

Following. Looking for options around the 500 GB range for my 2014 MBA, that won’t run the risk of overheat.

The cache is ddr4 but the read and write speed is still limited to sata3.
